Hi Dr. Chochinov, I appreciated your sharing of evidence supporting effectiveness of dignity therapy at the online dignity in care training. I was curious if there is any research studying the effectiveness of dignity therapy in the absence of a legacy document being created and/or shared with family. It strikes me that the process of exploring these questions with a patient would likely be therapeutic even without the creation of the legacy document. My other reason for asking is because I work on a tertiary palliative care unit, where some patients are very close to end of life or may decline quickly, and so it's likely I could start the process with a patient and not get to complete the legacy document creation/editing/sharing with family before end of life. Wondering if any studies have looked at this? Thanks
